Let's try it again.
Date: Thursday, April 14th
Time: 9pm US-Central
Place: UltimateBet (http://ultimatebet.com)
Game: No-Limit Texas Hold'em
Buy-In: $5.50 ($5.00 goes to pot, $0.50 goes to UB)
Payouts: UB pays the top 20%-30%
Expected Duration: 1 hour
Need a minimum of 5 players to hold tournament.
To participate, do the following:
- Create an UltimateBet account and deposit the minimum (I use SFPay...free and can use a check card)
- Send me your UB user name to be added to the list.
- Log onto UB around 10 minutes before the tournament.
- Watch the sign-up list in this forum to make sure your name shows up.
I will send a user list to UB a few hours before the tournament. When they receive the list, they'll deduct the entry fee from your account...even if you don't show up. _________________ --

I'm seriously considering it, but I may have to drive my inlaws to a funeral that night. I'll find out when the service is and let you know. _________________ JumperJeff

The signup list as I have it is posted as a new topic.
I've just asked UB to set up the tournament. The user list will be sent to them on Thursday after at which point anyone on the signup list will have the entry fee deducted from their account. _________________ --

I TRIED to deposit money to UB today, but what a hassel I've had! I couldn't use Visa directly using SFPay. Something about my bank not liking "gaming"...
So, I go to open a Neteller account. Pain in the ass! The sign-up form didn't accept my VALID phone number, so I had to put in a fake one. Then I couldn't validate my account.
So, I had an online chat with a Neteller rep. She walked me through setting up a checking account link. Nope. Now when I try to sign in, it says my account is closed and to call a 1-800 number.
I called it and the security guy says that my account is in contention or something and I have to write to their Investigations department to get it sorted out.
I'm pissed. My fiancee is going out of town on Thursday afternoon, so I thought an online poker game would be great! It would have been my FIRST. Never played for real money at UB yet....
This sucks.
If they actually get things sorted out before the game, I'll be VERY shocked, (and very impressed actually) so I don't think you can count on me to make this one.
Crap.
(you can tell I'm ticked because I never use smileys...) _________________ JumperJeff

I use my VISA check card. My VISA charge card gave me that "invalid gaming" thing.
Anyone want to float JJ some money? I'm sure he'll pay you back right after the tournament. _________________ --

Hey doc, that might be a way of doing it. I had a hell of a time getting set up the first time. maybe we could all just paypal you $5.50 and you could set it up as a free tourney by invite only. |

Funny - UB was all to happy to take my money. I didn't have any problems at all... I used a mastercard though...
As far as paypal, do I really want to pay yet another $5.50? Hmmmm....
BTW - I've found the cards to be against me on UB. For some reason, I always get caught on the river with some schmoo that decides to call my All-In with a 9-2, and then miraculously hits a flush, or a straight, or a full house - it's happen three times so far. I think it's rigged!
