|
|
The JBPS's Player of the Year Points are used to determine:
-The Player of the Year
-Additional Tournament of Champions Invitees
-The order of invitation for the next event
JBPS Player Points: Points are assigned as follows:
1.) 10 points for each place in the tournament. Example: 1st place in a 10 person event would recieve 100 points. 1st Place in a 20 person event would receive 200 points. Last place would recieve 10 points.
2.) Plus a bonus 1 point for every dollar earned.
3.) A 25% point penalty is assessed if the player has re-bought. Example: 1000 points - 25% penalty = 750 points
4.)Fractions are rounded to the nearest whole number.

Hey! You changed it on me. The old one is already implemented in the tool!
I'll have to add this one too then... _________________ --

Due to player demand... the 25% re-buy penalty had to be added... and it makes sense. _________________ "Play Like The Pros Play"

Is that an additional 25% per rebuy, or max 25%?
And if it is per, would 2 rebuys be 50% penalty or (100% - (75% * 75%))?
And is your Omaha tournament going to be High/Low? _________________ --

Only one 25% penalty.
We currently have a limit of one rebuy. I don't see this changing because the length of the events would get too long. They are already nearing 8 hours.
The Omaha Event = The JBPS River City Roundup... this is a straight No Limit Omaha tournament. I can't even imagine trying to direct a HI/LO event with 20+ people that really don't know the game that well without professional dealers.
It will be a trial-by-fire experiment to run an OMAHA game with these folks who are so used to No Limit Hold 'em. But the games are similar enough in format that it shouldn't be that big of a pain. _________________ "Play Like The Pros Play"

could you post the formula? I think I f**ked up and modified the one that came with the latest version. which raises the question, shouldn't the built-ins be unmodifiable? |

I did the same thing with my first effort. Just reinstall and you'll get them back in pristine condition. |

and how exactly do i do that? I tried trashing it, but I still can't recover the defaults. Also, there is something wrong with the ranking system design dialog. I'll send you a screen shot. |

Let me try a new tact. Could someone please post the formula for the NEW Johnson Bros. ranking system, with the 25% penalty?
thanks.

I'm too lazy to do it for you but I imagine all you have to do is add an IF statement to the old formula. Something like IF player's rebuy count > 0 then multiply by .75. |

Sisyphus had less trouble.
I'm trying to get the 25% penalty for re-buys in there. I'm afraid i have no idea how to write rules in the app, and the kind doctor hasn't supplied any directions yet to do so.
can someone either:
1)walk me through doing it myself, or
2) post the text to cut and paste into my rankings file?
thanks. |
