Depends on your definition of "problem"... LOL
In addition to the "4 Aces" chips you can lump-in any other composite chips that have a printed center graphic as well, as they are really all the same chip... for example....
or...
Any of the above are really gorgeous looking chips, and at 20 cents or less each, a pretty good damn deal.
If all you do is use them for a friendly weekly game, or the occasional tourney they'll be a big hit. That's the good news...
There can be a few "issues" depending on how you look at it.
With a lot of heavy use and/or if you have a lot of "chip shufflers" (like me) you'll notice some wear of the graphic as in the chip on the right.
As for the white color with the edge spots being of varying colors with denomination, that's really not an issue for me. It's not difficult at all to tell the difference at a glance... with ONE exception...
If you frequently play in "low light" conditions, the orange $500 & pink $1000 chips can be hard to tell which is which in a stack.
If you're looking for something a bit more "robust", there are better deals out there...
These "coin inlay" chips can be had for roughly the same price and are really nice looking chips, although a bit heavier (13g)
One of the best deals going I've seen these days for inexpensive tourney chips is over at VIP Trades
Not only do they have the plain 9g "diamond" chips for 4 cents or the "suited" 11.5g composite for 8 cents they'll gold-stamp denominations on both sides for 5 cents each.
Another option that looks nice are custom vinyl labels made by http://www.bestpokerchiplabels.com/.
Unlike paper labels that are usually 1" (slightly too big) or 3/4" (too small) these vinyl labels are custom cut for size. 15/16" is about perfect for the usual center section of most poker chips.
Being vinyl also makes them "spill proof".
At $50/1000 that's 10 cents a chip, and they look fantastic.

Chipco's ceramics are my favorites as well. I'm going to get a set for use as "final table" chips.
What most don't realize is that you can have them customized for not much more than the artwork fee as you would pay for any of their "standard" designs.
For example, over at http://homepokerchips.com/ the "classic" Chipco chips are $0.95 each, while a customized chip is $0.97.
The artwork fees are $140 for any of their 12 "stock" designs or $199 for your own custom artwork.

I have 2000 cheap 11.5g Dice composite chips (2x500 1x1000 sets)
600 white ($0.25 ring game)
600 red (T5)
300 green (T25)
200 black (T100)
300 blue (T500) played as purple
TournamentManager allows me to have >30 players with plenty of chips
I will be buying a dedicated T500 chip soon so my blue/white and white/blue chips aren't used during Tournament Play at all. |

I just signed up for a promotion today that I read about at chiptalk.net, where a bunch of people that play online are getting 300 peice sets of Nevada Jack chips for free.
If you play online poker, PSO (www.pokersourceonline.com) has the promotion going on at the moment for a set of 300 Nevada Jacks. You just have to play a certain number of raked hands at any one of the listed poker rooms. I'm playing at party poker (signed up there for the first time today, I usually play at ultimatebet) and already have over 50 raked hands in just over an hour of play. All you have to do at party poker is play 250 raked hands and then you have earned the chips from pso.
http://www.pokersourceonline.com/index2.asp
If anyone signs up, I'd really appreciate a referal, my name on the site is bratwurst
I'll let you guys know when I recieve the chips - its a pretty sweet deal, they are ceramic chips and this set usually costs around $200.

update... I finished the 250 raked hands in only 4 hours or so playing at Party Poker.
So the chips are going to be shipped soon. After the 250 rakes, I was at about even money, which I can't complain about since I signed up there just for the chips and played ultra conservative at a .15/.30 limit table. I came out ahead after the 250 hands as I got a $25 bonus, so thats pretty kick ass since I am going to withdraw as soon as I get the chips. So I basically am getting a $200 set of chips, and $25 free! Not too shabby.
Anyone else wants to do this promo, I'd appreciate if you can list me as a referral - thats another $20 in my bank account via paypal! (which of course, I can use towards keeping my Dr Neau's subscription going... )

Isnt the reason they give you the chips because you use THEM as a referral? I think there is only one referral per account. |

By the way... with regard to the vinyl labels from bestpokerchiplabels.com being "spill proof" vs. paper labels...
THE BEER TEST
Try that with a paper label. _________________ - Dix |

I can get multiple referrals to PSO. They referred me to Party Poker. I can get one set of chips through the promo. _________________ 40 |

Oh, you meant using you as a referal to PSO, not to Party Poker. Sorry, I just misunderstood what you said. The reason they give the chips is because they are your referral to the various poker sites. |

I order a set….shipped fast and good looking…..,but (and this is a big but) once installed I could no longer get the same number of chips in my acrylic carriers(the type that fit in a acrylic ‘cage’, now only 19 fit per slot instead of 20)…..Luckily I found this out before I did the entire batch………They did look good….. |

Did you order the paper or the vinyl?
And what chips did you use them on?

They were vinyl.......and I used them on the basic 'suited' chips.......If I had something like nexgen's it probably wouldn't have been an issue (since they are recessed....... |

i posted about these in the chip designs forum awhile back; i received them yesterday from a guy in ohio via ebay who has provided top quality chips at an affordable price as well as top notch customer service with a small problem with the purchase.
these are chipco magnetic tournament chips--the cartoonish design on them is a bit...well, i don't love it but i don't hate it, either. anyway, i got these for $325 shipped for 500 mix n match chips (i did 150x5/25/100, 25x500/1000) and they're as good as if not better than any i've played with in a casino.
http://drneau.com/BB/viewtopic.php?t=682 holds a pic of the design. if anyone wants the guy's contact info, PM me. i don't know the guy or work for him or chipco and i rarely pimp anything, but it's also rare that i'm this pleased with a purchase. |

I purchased 3 cases of 1000 Dice chips at Wallmart for 50$ each. Not sure of how many of each color I have but let's say it's enough
I am now considering having them hotstampped with our club logo, would prevent fraud although I have not seens any extra chips so far when I re-do my stacks for the following tournament.
Our tourney are T3000, I give the following starting stacks:
12 X Green (25$)
4 X White (50$) would prefer no to but I don't have enough blacks otherwise
5X Black (100$)
4X Purple (500$)
I color up with Purple (500$), Orange (1000$) and Grey (5000$).
Works like a charm.
The dice chips are not as attractive as some of the chips you guys posted, but they are cheap and I have have them hotstapped. I think this is really the best price to quality ratio you can get. |
