Working on the details of the tournament history currently.
Here's how it'll work.
History does not dictate tournament state (like it does in v2). Instead, it will reflect tournament state. That means, for example, that undoing a buy-in is as simple as editing a player and removing the buy-in...rather than having to edit history.
History will now serve primarily to tell the story of the tournament, if you want. You can ignore it or take advantage of it. Your choice.
When events happen (buy-in, add-on, elimination, rebuy, tourney start, tourney end, new round, etc. etc.) they are assumed to be good and simply added to the history log. The log is not validated with each new item (as it was in v2).
Whenever you want, you can push the button to "validate" the history log. A job will run quickly to:
a) Make sure the events in history make logical sense in relation to each other (for instance, you don't have a player buying in after they've rebought). It'll step through the log event by event. If an event is valid, it's marked "valid". If it's found to not make logical sense, it's marked "invalid", the validation halts, the item is flagged in the history log and a note pops up telling you why it's invalid.
b) Once the log is valid, it's compared to actual tournament data and any conflicts are shown to you. You can use this to make sure your history agrees with your tournament.
So, you can edit history whenever you want, moving events around, then you just run the validator to check it.
Video to come when it's complete. _________________ --
