I'm not sure whether or not this topic has been discussed in the past, and if it has I apologise.
For my home games, I use a spoken announcement to announce all of the tournament actions, for example blind increases etc. I use a generic one for the blind increase. It would be most useful indeed to set up Dr. Neau's software in a way that I am able to add a different sound to each blind level, so I could use, for example, "The Blinds have now increased to $xxx and $xxx".
Just a thought, and thanks for the great software,
Ben |

I had suggested that a while back. I don't know if it has been implemented since I stopped using TM for a while now. I am about to register it again and I am really interested in this as well.
I run a poker club with tournamenents ranging from 30 to 80 people per night. I also announce verbally the new blind level, breaks, etc. If it was possible to replace the generic sound for blind increase by a mp3 or wave file for each individual level, I could pre-record it and let TM announce it for me. Every little details counts
If this becomes available, I will most likelly use some sort of voice synthessis software to record the announcements so it sounds even more professional. |

The tough part for me is doing it in a way that keeps the components modular and handling all the "what if" scenarios.
What you're asking is somewhat similar to how I've let you specify a console layout per level. But I did that in a way that doesn't tie the blind schedule to a layout or a layout name...instead, on the blind level you specify a "layout index" and then associate a layout to an index in your console theme. For my last HORSE tournament, I set the Hold'em layout to C1, Omaha to C2, etc. then for a Hold'em round I told the schedule to use "C1".
I'd probably go with the same alias mechanism for audios, but I'd have to have a lot more audio aliases for your situation, I assume. _________________ --

Why not just add some text to speach and have the system generate the sounds on the fly?
Wait, I think I just overshot that suggestion by quite a bit.
Just make the sound very loud so people are forced to look at the screen to see what the heck is going on. _________________ <thwack> NOooooooBODY expects to lose to Rewind!

I was going to suggest text-to-speech also...the Microsoft Speech SDK does a pretty good job, and it is even better when you throw in AT&T voices. I have this for my Home Automation (http://www.misterhouse.net) program to make announcements.[/url] |
