Hey All -
Just got back from Vegas, and I had to tell you about my Toureny Play at the Aladdin. Every morning at 10, they do a quick $40 tourney for T1500 in chips. This time around, they had 132 players (a record according to the MC)! Top prise was $1300, and the top 9 players were in the money.
My table was pretty cool - ten guys that played decnt poker. I was able to bust a few hands, and buy a few pots, but could only muster a finish in the top 80...
It was pretty neat - I'd do it again (the price was right). I was staying at the Mirage - they also had a morning tourney, but it cost $130 to buy-in - forget that!

I was at both the Mirage and the Aladdin in January. At that time, the Aladdin dealers were pretty green. Have they improved?
And, was the sultry dealer dealing at the Mirage? _________________ --

They still seemed pretty green at the Aladdin. We had to help out with the side pots sometime (and believe it or not, making change). My first dealer was Nora - I liked her a lot ! But then we got some tool who wasn't any fun at all.
At the Mirage, I only played one night... Too many high rollers for me. But the Dealer there was a guy, so I didn't think he was that sultry.
Then there's always the Nugget. Those games were 2/4 and very easy to get into. I broke even after about 4 hours there...
God I love Vegas! I can't wait to go back!

We went to vegas at the end of February and played primarily at the Aladdin. Loved the Aladdin, it was my favorite of the rooms we played in.
There was one dealer issue at our 1/2 NL table, but it was resolved. The guy to the right of me raised the open. I then re-raised him. The guy to the immediate left of me went all in for about $50. Everyone folded to the guy to the right of me who initially raised.
Here's where the dealer screwed up... He said the guy could only call the all-in bet. After about 5 minutes of arguing and the room director coming over the issue was resolved.
The result... The guy to the left of me goes all in for $50, The guy to the right of me goes all-in for $85. I have enough to cover both so I call leaving a side-pot.
The guy to the left flips TT. The guy to the right flips 99. I flip QQ and am loving it... The flop comes with a 9 and a 10. I lose both pots and was pissed.
Sometimes... I really hate poker. But if you do play, I recommend the Aladdin. _________________ "Play Like The Pros Play"

I've never been to Vegas but we're planning on going this year.
Last year I was in Elko for a tourney and played quite a bit in the poker room in 2/4/10 side games and the dealers were great. I was out during the day seeing some sites and ran into one of them. We ended up going to another casino and playing blackjack for hours. We had a great time and did pretty good. Then I ended up losing all the winnings at his poker table the next day. |
