Hello,
If a user does not show up for the tournament, he will not get his buy-in back.
There is no point in sending us a list with people that have no idea that they
are registered in the tournament. If the tournament starts, the players will be
brought to the table. With the first complaint , the tournament would be frozen
and your account closed. Furthermore we are monitoring the tournaments and
randomly playing in the tournaments we set. Please let us know if you need
further assistance.
Thank you,
Stephen

If a user doesn't show up for the tournament, do they get their money back.
Out of curiosity, what's to stop me from sending you a bunch of names from
people I see playing on UB and then you deduct money from their accounts without
their knowledge? Seems like it would make more sense if the list I send you is
just a valid user list and then the money is deducted once they sit down. _________________ --

I love the idea of playing online, but I feel that UB is way out of line running it like that. There has to be some way for them to verify if the player is actually going to play or not. |

This is a lousy way for UB to set up a private tourney. I would hate for Dr. Neau's account to be frozen because someone's UB name is submitted wrong (misspelled) and a complaint is made... or, someone who fails to show up after requesting to play, decides to complain.
UB's response at least addresses some of the concerns of the random player having money removed from his account, but doesn't really provide a good solution. I am an UB player and a fan of the site in general. It's too bad that they can't get their act together on this.
I wonder if anyone knows of another online site that is better organized for scheduling a private tourney? Anyone else try this before somewhere else? |
