I pinged UB on how to set one up.
How would Thursday at 9pm Central work?
Dear Jeffrey,
We'd be happy to set up a private tourney. We need a few days notice and some
information from you. Tell us the tournament name you would like to use, the
date and time, the buy-in amount, and the usernames of the players.
We will set up the event and add the users. We will deduct the buy-in from
their accounts.
It is your responsibility to keep the players informed that they are registered
and that we are taking the buy-ins. We will not be sending them any confirmation
emails.
Please let us know how we can help you with this event. _________________ --

I'd love to play. Haven't played any online poker for real money yet though, so I'd have to add some $$ to my UB account.
Can you give the specifics on buyin, blinds, etc?
And just to be sure, are you thinking of March 10? _________________ JumperJeff

I'd love to play, but I'm pretty low-stakes kinda guy. I'd do it for $5. 9PM Central is a little late for Max on a weeknight... On a weekend maybe?

Forgive my stupidity, but what/where is "UB"? I'm a Mac guy, so I pretty much stick to "Poker Room". Nevertheless, I might be interested in trying my luck against youse guys. Lemme know. _________________ --

I'll create a No-Limit Hold'em Tournament. $5 buy-in. (+ 50 cents that willl go to UB).
It'll be Thursday March 10th at 9pm Central. |

Alright,
The Dr. Neau Invitational #1 is on for Thursday, March 10th at 9pm Central (which is 10pm UB time). Buy-in will be $5.50 (50 cents goes to UB). The game is No-Limit Texas Hold'em.
If you want to play, here's what you need to do:
- Create a UB account and put at least $5.50 into it.
- Send me your UB user name (to drneau@drneau.com) I then forward that to UB and they sign you up for the tournament.
Note: UB will not send out reminders for the tournament (but I will). Once you send me your name and I send it to them, the money is deducted from your UB account. _________________ --

I need a minimum of 5 players for the tournament to happen.
I need to send the final participant list in 4 hours before the tournament starts. _________________ --

I'd like to play, but Thursday isn't the best night. I have a 7pm meeting that MIGHT be over before 8 (tourney start time in my time zone).
I know it's only 5 bucks, but I'd rather not miss any of the game. Next time? _________________ JumperJeff

Went to their website today. I don't think this is true. The requirements for Mac users include Virtual PC, which is a Windows emulation application (does pretty much what the name indicates). |

What, you don't want to pay $399.00 for a chance to win $20?
Anybody recommend any other sites? Maybe we need to setup another one. _________________ --

Seems odd that Ultimatebet would allow a member to authorize the removal of funds from another member's UB account. I have a list of 500 UB account names that (I claim) would like to play in a tournament with no email notification sent to them... I will play heads-up with myself for the $2,500 prize pool... too bad for them if they don't show up to challenge me...
There must be some way that UB confirms that the participant wants to be registered for this tournament. Am I missing something? Seems more logical that the list submitted by Dr. Neau would be only an "invitation" list to a private tourney, not a final participant list. And, that once the tournament is approved (by submission of minimum # of UB usernames), UB would provide Dr. Neau with a tournament room name for invited participants to register for up to the last minute before start-time...???
Am I overlooking a detail somewhere? I hope I'm not making an issue out of nothing. |

Talking thru my ass here, but I would guess the money doesn't come out of your account until you sit at the table.
The list is probably just to give the users the right to sit. |

Surprisingly, no.
Once I send the list in tonight, the money is deducted from your account whether you show up or not. _________________ --
