I know Robert Varkonyi won the main event in 2002, and I'm not discounting the accomplishment... but this guy is horrible.

I was watching ESPN Classic who showed the final table at the 2002 WSOP and the first day at the 2003 WSOP. I've seen these both before, but I probably know more about the game that when I first watched them. Robert Varkonyi is BRUTAL! I have no idea how he won.

They showed him on the first day of the 2003 WSOP with consecutive hands of AA in the pocket. He slow played both of them all the way to the river. One of which, ended up with 4 diamonds on the board. He won both, but he deserved to get whacked.

Later on, they showed him calling Scotty Ngyuen's all-in bet with KK. Scotty flipped up AA and it was over for BOB. Even Doyle Brunson was commenting on how bad the guy was...

Why do you think this year he watched from the rail after about halfway through Day 1 of the Main Event as his wife made it to Day 3? Very Happy

Olga Varkonyi

I'd agree with you Doc except that I'm still boycotting the French. Very Happy

Ditto Evelyn Ng... I put Canada in the same camp as the Euro-Weasels.

So, I'm going with the former Miss Teen Oklahoma... Clonie Gowen.

Actually, I have a thing for Mimi Tran... mostly because I met her once and as long as the broken English doesn't bother you... after that she's a sweetheart... even if she DID bust me. Very Happy

I know.... I'm pathetic. Very Happy
