OK, so at our tournaments, we usually have two tables of ten players (twenty total... ) with myself always the dealer at the #1 table. The #2 table is a fixed player/dealer as well, but not always the same person each week. Anyway, my thing is this... I always seat myself in seat one, table one. Unfortunately, I don't always last through the table consolidation. Is there a way to keep myself seated, as the dealer, to avoid overcrowding at consolidation time?
For example, if I bust out in 15th place, and then three more are eliminated, the TM says it is time to consolidate. But, I am still seated as dealer, and, with some of our players being bigger guys, there usually isn't enough room for eleven at the final table. So ....
I know this is nit-picking ticky tacky little stuff, but when I am trying to keep the play moving at my table, while running the TM and eliminating and seating and dealing!!!!!!!!!! The less pop up questions I have to answer the better.
Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. _________________ I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. - Bud

I would expect the most recent ehnahcement to solve that problem......it allows you to lock a player to a seat.... |

So, do we really want "locked" to mean "don't unseat this person even if they are eliminated"?
Right now, it means "don't consider this person for balancing". _________________ --

We have 'self-deal' tourneys... no dedicated dealer... so for me it is just fine the way it is.
Cheers,

The coming release will modify this slightly for the better:
- "Locked" seats will retain their players through table consolidations, assuming the table they are at does not fold up.
- If you eliminate a player who is locked in their seat, you must confirm that you want to unseat them (because players are automatically unseated when you eliminate them). _________________ --

Just to clarify.... if I "lock" myself in seat 1 of table 1, and am eliminated from the tournament before consolidation, will I still be seated as an eliminated player? Or if I don't confirm my "unseating", does that reverse the elimination...
Not sure if that makes sense the way I wrote it, but I think you can get the gist of what I am asking.
Thanks for taking the time to help me with this 'problem' _________________ I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. - Bud

Here's the scenario.
Capsicum is locked in Table 1, Seat 1.
Capsicum is eliminated in round 1. He called an all-in with ducks.
The user chooses to eliminate Capsicum. The tool acts as normal, asking the user to confirm the elimination. However, rather than simply unseating him it asks the user if Capsicum should remain in his seat because he is locked.
The user chooses to leave Capsicum in his seat as an eliminated player. _________________ --

I understand the reasoning behind this, but doesn't the application ask you at the time a table folds to either
1) unseat all players
2) unseat players from one table and drop them to another
3) Do Nothing.
Wouldn't "do nothing" work until you were ready to consolidate the tables (i.e. when one more person is eliminated)?
seems like it would do the same thing as the enhancement is doing.. |
